Who are We?

A good way to introduce  ourselves is to share a glimpse of our origin, which happened about five  years ago, as told by our  founder,  Ann.

...One day at the ISSE, (International Secondary School of Eindhoven) a parent mentioned that she would really like to meet some other American women but didn't know who they were.  So, I said, "okay, I'll set up something so that fellow Americans can meet each other".  After considering how to accomplish this "gathering" I decided to invite  American women to my house and have the ones I knew spread the word to others to bring a sandwich and come to Tweelingenlaan 38.  I would provide beverage and dessert....About 12 to 15 appeared and I never knew who might be at the door when the doorbell rang.

As you can tell by our name, we've expanded our focus to meet the needs of North American citizens.  But our meetings continue to include the same kind of informal mix of women, who like sharing ideas and companionship around the kitchen table.   Many of us belong to other international organizations as well, but we value this  opportunity to visit with each other in members' homes and other small, casual settings.
