“Wake
up you
dumb bear!”
The bear
whose name
was bruin
stood up.
“I said stand
up damn
it!” The master of
Bruin had obviously been
drinking. “You’re
gona be
a cow today.”
The master
said then
passed out.
Bruin found
it very amusing. He hoped
that some
would come
in and find him
there. Although Bruin knew
that he
had no friends. A few
hours later
the master
woke up.
“Come bear. We
must go
do our show.” Bruin went outside with his master. He didn’t
want to
perform. He
hated being
laughed at,
and having flies swarming around
his face
for five
hours. I mean
who would.
But Bruin
listened, if
he didn’t
he would
be given a
third of
a bowl
of water,
given no
food, and
beaten. So
Bruin did
what the
master said,
played dead,
danced, every
thing. After a
few hours
of being
“tortured” he noticed
a small skinny
boy push
his way
through the
crowd. There
was something
extraordinary about this
boy he
couldn’t say
exactly what
it was,
but there
was something about
him. The
boy looked
into Bruin’s
eyes and
Bruin started to cry.
Then the ran off. But bruin watched him walk away
and while
watching him
he felt that
if he
could do
something for
him he
would be happy. That night
Bruin thought
all about
the boy he had seen.
He was
obviously a
slave, he
had a
shackle on
his left
leg. Bruin finally
when to sleep
and dreamt
the sweetest dream,
he wasn’t
in that
horrible city where
the heat
beats on
you all
day or
flies eat at
your eyes.
He was
in a beautiful
cool land
with lots
of snow
and ice,
and food. But then he woke up,
to find
that it
was just a
dream. After a
week passed
Bruin was
half starved, for
he had
been very
bad, he
bit his
master. Then
as punishment
he was
not feed. That night
his master
had been
drunk he
beat Bruin. But
instead of
locking bruin
in his
cage, he
locked him self
in the
cage. Bruin
left his
master in
there and left
him there.
Bruin then
went out
wandering the
streets. After about an hour he heard his name called
“Bruin, Bruin, Bruin!” bruin though it might be the boy. So he ran to
him. As Bruin was running he realized part of his chain was
dangling from his neck. but he
didn’t care.
He had to help the
boy.
As soon as he got to the boy
one of the men was about
to hit him with
a hammer . Bruin hit
the man
in the side. He
dropped the hammer.
Then the
boy yelled
“I believe!”
Other men were running towards them, so the boy told me to come with him. He ran to the shore and walked on top of the water. Bruin followed and to his surprise he could walk upon it to. And together they walked across the path of the moon. |
